Breast tomosynthesis (3D mammography) is the most advanced technology available for screening and diagnostic mammograms. J.C. Blair Women's Imaging Center was the first in the region to offer this new technology to ALL mammography patients. More recently, the Center acquired the newest C-View software reducing patient exposure and compression time. J.C. Blair also offers upright Stereotactic Breast Biopsy procedures – a less invasive way of taking tissue out of the breast than surgery. New Bone Density and Ultrasound equipment also provide state-of-the-art services for women close to home.
J.C. Blair participates in the Adagio Mammogram Voucher Program and the Healthy Woman Program for uninsured women who are unable to receive a mammogram and follow-up diagnostic services due to lack of insurance. For more information or to see if you qualify, call 1.888.687.0505.
- One in every eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer in her lifetime.
- When breast cancers are diagnosed at a localized stage, the five-year survival rate is 97%.
3D Mammography makes it possible to identify breast cancer when very small – often a year or two before it is large enough to be felt. 3D Mammography gives a clearer, more detailed image and signifi cantly enhances early detection.
