Ambulatory Surgery

J.C. Blair's Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) is staffed by nurses who provide patient care before and after anesthesia for surgery and endoscopy procedures.  They assess the patient prior to surgery, prepare patients for surgery, start IVs, and ensure all patient safety measures are taken to minimize the risk of any errors.  After procedures, these nurses ensure that any outpatient is ready to go home, sharing discharge instructions for follow-up care.
