Outpatient & Emergency Visits

Outpatient Visits

Most outpatient visits, including lab, radiology, and cardio-pulmonary procedures, require patients to register at Central Registration in the Hospital’s Main Lobby. We ask that patients always check in at the Information or Outpatient Registration Desk so the staff can process the registration or direct patients to the appropriate service area if registration is not required. Feel free to bring a book or magazine.

Patients should bring these items for an outpatient visit:

  • Current Insurance Card
  • Social Security Card
  • Photo Identification
  • Doctor’s Order
  • Pre-certification numbers, if necessary
  • Current list of medications

Emergency Visits

Emergency patient parking and entrance are located at the top of Bryan Street, or past the Main Entrance if you arrive via 14th Street (see campus map for more details).

Patients should first be seen by a triage nurse who will evaluate the severity of the condition and determine how quickly a patient may need to be treated. After assessment, the triage nurse will direct the patient to the appropriate care area or the registration desk.

Patients with life threatening emergencies will be seen before those whose injuries are not as critical. We make every effort to minimize wait times in the emergency room. We try to communicate with patients frequently on possible wait times.

When coming to the ER, please bring:

  • Current Insurance Card
  • Social Security Card
  • Photo Identification
  • List of medicines and herbal supplements currently being taken
  • Advance Directives
