JC Blair Offers Safe Sitter Class to Area Youth
J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital is offering Safe Sitter classes to youth ages 11 and up. Taught by J.C. Blair nurses, “Safe Sitter” is a medically accurate program that teaches potential babysitters how to handle emergencies when caring for children. Student will learn First Aid, choking rescue, feeding, diapering, how to handle weather-related disasters and fire, safety in the home, as well as safety for the sitter, and babysitting as a business. The class will be offered twice in June: Friday, June 11, and Monday, June 14, with a registration fee of $40 that covers the cost of class materials, a certificate of completion and lunch. Classes will be held in the J.C. Blair Education Center from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with a graduation ceremony that starts promptly at 3:45 p.m. Parents are invited to attend.
