Shuster Secures $180,000 for J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital
Congressman Bill Shuster is pleased to announce that he has successfully secured $180,000 in funding for the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon County.
“I am pleased to have secured this important funding through the appropriations process,” Shuster said. “J.C. Blair does an outstanding job adopting new technologies and treatments to better treat its patients. This money will enable the hospital to complete an important step forward in modernizing its services through the adoption of electronic medical records which will result in better patient care and greater efficiency.”
The hospital will use the funding to purchase equipment aimed at improving patient safety, upgrade efficiency and reduce operating costs through the implementation of an electronic medical records system. The move towards electronic medical records, a national priority in the healthcare debate, will enable doctors to get important patient information faster and provide patients with the security in knowing their medical records are secure and updated.
“J.C. Blair is grateful for Congressman Shuster’s support in this initiative,” said J.C. Blair President and Chief Executive Officer Joseph J. Peluso. “The electronic medical records grant will enable J.C. Blair to speed integration and alignment among physicians and the hospital, resulting in service improvements for patients. The Health System is committed to being a patient centered organization that is focused on providing the highest quality care for our patients.”
