J.C. Blair Auxiliary Installs New Officers
The Auxiliary to J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital held its 96th Annual Meeting Luncheon on Monday, November 9, 2009 at Noon in the J.C. Blair Education Center
Welcome remarks were given by President, Barb Eastman. Carol Yoder dedicated a new plaque honoring J.C. Blair nursing school graduates which will hang in History Hall of the Hospital. Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the Hospital, Frances Vaughn, offered remarks on statistics of hospital admissions and the benefits received by patients from contributions by the Auxiliary. Invocation was given by Shirley Powell and a delicious bread bowl soup and fresh fruit lunch was enjoyed by all.
President and CEO Joseph J. Peluso offered words of gratitude to the Auxilians for all they do to support the Hospital. The Annual Report was presented to those present. Pam Thompson presented by-law revisions to be accepted by the group and then conducted the installation of officers for the upcoming year. Those officers are: President, Barb Eastman; President-Elect, Shirley Powell; Vice President, Sharon Bookhamer; Secretary, Mary Ellen Herbster; and Treasurer, Kathy Armillei.
Committee Chairs for the upcoming year are Cindy and Don Wetzel and Mike and Cindy Knott, Benefit Event; Miranda Peruso, Publicity; Robin Sulesky, Children’s Health Fair; Peggy DeMar, Hospitality Events; Susan Romano, Legislative Advocacy; Suzanne Snare, Hospital Projects; Sally Oberle, Scholarships; Pat Chaundy, Membership; and Marilyn Miller, Lobby Sales. The Board is still seeking someone to serve as the ByLaws Review Chairperson.
President Eastman indicated that the Auxiliary will have several luncheon meetings during the year to include all of the members and keep them informed of the events sponsored by the group and activities where assistance may be needed. President Eastman thanked past officers and committee chairs for their support. Trudy Kyler, who served many years as Treasurer was presented with a pillow handmade by Marilyn Miller. Members were encouraged to sign up to assist on committees, make suggestions for programs and volunteer at the Hospital.
The meeting concluded and a program was presented on Music Therapy by Lynda Kuckenbrod, CMP, of MoonShadow Harp Therapy. Ms. Kuckenbrod also played harp music while Auxilians were arriving as well as during the luncheon.
