Breast Health Alliance Hosts Ladies Night Out
“The Power of Pink” is the theme for a Ladies Night Out at the Broad Top Community Center scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Huntingdon County Alliance for Breast Care at J.C. Blair is hosting this evening which partners pampering with an educational program on the importance of breast health. Free manicures, chair massages and refreshments will be provided along with a program that will educate women on what they need to know to chart their path to better breast health.
The event, co-hosted by the Broad Top Area Medical Center, will feature discussions with Maria Pettinger, M.D., Chief Radiologist at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital; Penny Shope, Mammography Service Leader at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital; and Tina Cunningham, Community Educator of Centre/ Huntingdon Tapestry of Health. Women will have an opportunity to talk openly with these health professionals about their questions and concerns. Guests will also be invited to sign up for a free mammography screening day to be held in the fall at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
The pampering part of the program will include free pink ribbon manicures by Kendal Miller of Broad Top and chair massages by Holli Weimert of Mountain View Massage in Saxton.

This event is the fourth in a series of breast health outreach events planned throughout Huntingdon County by the Huntingdon County Alliance for Breast Care at J.C. Blair.
