Free Informational Programs Targeting Senior Questions
The Huntingdon County Area Geriatric Interest Network is sponsoring two free informational programs targeting the questions of seniors and caregivers. The focus of the “Ask the Expert” program is remaining independent and will emphasize options for home care, insurance and financial planning, and local senior living options. Free blood pressure screenings will be offered, courtesy of J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, and staff from The Medicine Shoppe will be available to answer pharmacy-related questions.
The first “Ask the Expert” event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 noon at the Bricktown Senior Center in Mount Union, and the second is scheduled for Thursday, April 30, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 noon at the Standing Stone Senior Center in Huntingdon. Lunch is available for a $2.00 donation to the senior centers; RSVP is required for lunch one week prior to the event by calling the J.C. Blair Community Assessment Center at 643-8880.
The Huntingdon County Area Geriatric Interest Network is a collaboration of health and human service organizations dedicated to enhancing resources and services for the County’s older residents.
