Mansberger to Lead Medical Staff
J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital Medical Staff will have new officers to serve as the Medical Executive Committee, beginning January 1, 2013. James Mansberger D.O. was named Chief of Staff; Molly Ettenger, M.D., Vice Chief of Staff; Francis X. Pessolano, M.D., Secretary/Treasurer; William Olstein, Jr. D.O., Chairman of the Department of Medicine; and Christopher Patitsas, M.D., Chairman of the Department of Surgery.
"J.C. Blair is fortunate to have such a fine group of physicians to lead the hospital's medical staff," said J.C. Blair President and CEO Lisa Mallon. "They will provide excellent leadership for the medical staff and hospital."
Chief of Staff James W. Mansberger, D.O., is a pediatrician with his own practice, Pediatrics and Beyond, in Huntingdon. A Huntingdon County native and graduate of Penn State University, Dr. Mansberger earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed an internal medicine and pediatric residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Dr. Mansberger is board certified by the Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He has been a member of J.C. Blair's Medical Staff since 2001.
Vice Chief of Staff Molly Ettenger, M.D., is the Medical Director of the Wound Healing Center at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital and internal medicine physician at J.C. Blair Medical Services Primary Care Center. She received her medical degree from Ohio State University and completed her internal medicine residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Ettenger also completed a three year fellowship in nephrology at the University of Cincinnati. She has been a member of J.C. Blair's Medical Staff since 1986.
Secretary/Treasurer Francis X. Pessolano, M.D., is a radiologist at J.C. Blair with Raystown Imaging, Inc. He earned his medical degree at the University of Bologna, Italy, and completed his residency/internship at Saint Francis General Hospital. Dr. Pessolano has been a member of J.C. Blair's Medical Staff since 2006.
Chairman of the Department of Medicine William Olstein, Jr., D.O. is a family practice physician with J.C. Blair Medical Services' Primary Care Center. A native of Nanty Glo, Pennsylvania, Dr. Olstein is a Juniata College graduate. He earned his medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency with the Altoona Family Physicians Residency Program at Altoona Regional Health System. Dr. Olstein has been a member of J.C. Blair's Medical Staff since 2009.
Chairman of the Department of Surgery Christopher Patitsas, M.D., is an ophthalmologist with his own practice, Insight Eye Clinic, at J.C. Blair. He earned his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Patitsas has been a member of J.C. Blair's Medical Staff since 1990.
The J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital Medical Staff is responsible for overseeing quality assurance at the Hospital. The Medical Executive Committee is elected to represent the staff and meets monthly with hospital administration. In addition, there are 17 different medical staff committees that direct the physicians' and the hospital's quality of care policies and procedures.
