Kiwanis Club Donates Smoke Alarms to J.C. Blair Maternity Department
Huntingdon Kiwanis Club President Rev. Todd Snyder presents J.C. Blair Maternity Nurses Julie Distler, R.N, and Lori Zanic, R.N., with smoke alarms to be given to all newborn families at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. The Kiwanis Club has donated smoke alarms to the Hospital since 1990, as part of their “Young Children Priority One” project. Several thousand smoke alarms have been given since the project began.
The smoke alarms will soon be included in the Newborn Safety Kits, a project of Safe Kids Huntingdon County, which provides usable safety items for families of newborns. The Newborn Safety Kits are expected to debut in the coming months.
If interested in making a donation or for more information on J.C. Blair’s Newborn Safety Kits, please contact Huntingdon County Safe Kids Coordinator Stacey Freitag at (814) 643-8833 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
