J.C. Blair and HMJ PATCH Program Help Smokers Kick Butts on March 23
Wednesday, March 23 is Kick Butts Day, a national initiative that encourages activism and leadership among youth and adults. Itís the day American kids are urged to stand up to tobacco companies, and American adults stand up for kidís health.
J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital and the HMJ PATCH Program are planning two events in recognition of Kick Butts Day. On Wednesday, March 23, Kim Witkovsky with the HMJ PATCH Program will be in the Hospital Lobby from 12 Ė 2 p.m. with information and materials about quitting smoking and smokeless tobacco.
To recognize and support Kick Butts Day, J.C. Blair Memorial Hospitalís Cardiopulmonary Department is hoping to give smokers one more reason to quit, by showing them how smoking is affecting their lung capacity. On Wednesday, March 23 from 12 Ė 2 p.m., J.C. Blair will be offering free lung screenings in the Cardiopulmonary Department for smokers and those exposed to smoke.
The lung screenings are also offered for free to the public on the first Wednesday of every month in the J.C. Blair Cardiopulmonary Department from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. or by appointment. For more information, contact the J.C. Blair Cardiopulmonary Department at (814) 643-8645.
