Local Libraries Sponsor Book Signings with J.C. Blair 100th Anniversary Book Authors
The Huntingdon County Library and its branches in Mount Union and Orbisonia are sponsoring book signings and sales of the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital 100th Anniversary book, authored by local historians Nancy Swigart Shedd and Alberta Haught Goshorn. The authors will be selling autographed books in the three branches of the Huntingdon County Library from 11:30 a.m. Ė 1:30 p.m. as follows:
The first book signing event will be held at the Huntingdon County Library, located at 330 Penn Street in Huntingdon, on Friday, November 12. The Lower Huntingdon County Branch Library, located at 12 South Cromwell Street in Orbisonia, will host a book signing on Monday, November 15, and the book signing at the Mount Union Branch Library, located at 11 West Market Street in Mount Union, will be on Tuesday, November 16. All three signings will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The book is a pictorial account of the Hospitalís 100 years and features chapters on the Blair family, the Auxiliary, J.C. Blairís Nurses Training School, doctors, and emergencies.
The book is available to purchase at the Hospitalís Volunteer Information Desk from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday or by contacting Vicky Huggler in the Foundation office (814) 643-8889 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The cost is $23.31, including tax, and may be shipped for an additional $5.
