The theme this year is “60 Years and Shining,” featuring diamonds, which is the 60th anniversary stone. A ¾ karat loose diamond, sponsored in part by Swartz Jewelry Company, will be raffled off at the event, along with a diamond blade saw donated by Sears Hometown Store in Huntingdon, and a $500 travel voucher donated by Kish Bank. Raffle tickets are $10 each and may be purchased from a committee member, at the J.C. Blair Volunteer desk, or by calling the J.C. Blair Community Relations Office at (814) 643-8833. The winners do not need to be present to win.
Entertainment for dancing will be provided by The Randy Jackson Band of Altoona, who is making a return performance. The band will feature music from the era of the first Charity Ball in 1948 and each decade since, ending the evening with current dance hits.
This year proceeds from this event will benefit the Emergency Department at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. For tickets or for more information, please call Valerie Long at (814) 643-8827.
