Volunteers at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital are a valuable resource. Volunteers not only have the opportunity to help those in need, but they also provide support and other services that might not be available to patients without the generosity of volunteers.
The volunteer program is designed with flexibility and is organized to allow community members (age 14 and older) to volunteer. Volunteers work in many areas of the Hospital including:
- Greeting patients and visitors at the Information Desk.
- Service as liaisons for surgical patients and families.
- Escorting patients and visitors.
- Transporting patients.
- Delivering mail and flowers.
- Working in the Doorway Gift Shop
- Working in the dietary, marketing and emergency departments.
The Auxiliary to J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital
Another program that allows men and women to volunteer their time to the benefit of our community hospital is The Auxiliary to J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. Membership provides additional volunteer opportunities through the following projects and programs sponsored by the Auxiliary:
- The Annual Charity Ball
- J.C. Blair Golf Classic
- Children's Health Fair
- Patient TV Service
- Baby Portraits & Spoons
- J.C. Blair Employee Scholarships
- J.C. Blair Care Bears
- Hospital Lobby Sales
- The Doorway Gift Shop
